Our Child Care Programs
Infant
When you come to visit us, we will take you through every aspect of our infant child care plans, but here are a few highlights:
- Every infant is assigned a primary caregiver.
- Infants are rocked to sleep and held for feedings.
- Every morning our teachers will check with you to see how your evening and morning has been; when your baby has last eaten, slept, and been changed.
- Each evening when you arrive, you will receive a daily report capturing the activities and routines of your baby’s day.
- Our teachers will document all meal times, diaper changes, nap times, and play times.
- Our daily communications enable parents and teachers, as partners, to provide a consistency between home and the center that makes your baby feel secure.
- It also lets you know that you can be confident in the caregiving and child development that we provide.
So that we may place singular focus on the growing needs of infants, the our Infant Child Care Program has two separate classrooms, serving these approximate age groups:
- 6 weeks to 9 months
- 9 months to 18 months
Learning begins at birth. Because babies’ needs vary, healthy child development for infants requires individual goals and lesson plans. At Heavens Touch, we focus on:
- Personal and social development
- Language development
- Physical development
- Recognizing and documenting infant milestones
- Daily active reporting
Every baby participates in individual gross motor activities, fine motor activities, sensorimotor play, and social play. In each classroom, babies complete art projects and experience different tactile sensations creating handprints and footprints. Teachers introduce simple sign language, such as ‘more’, ‘eat’, and ‘help’, to encourage communication before verbal skills have developed.

Toddler
What an extraordinary time in a young child’s life! Toddlers are joyful and amazed by the simplest things.
At this stage, life becomes three-dimensional and full of wonder. That’s why we created a toddler day care program that discovers right along with them!
Toddlers love to learn and explore. They are always on the go, and always challenging their newly discovered mobility. At our center, we encourage them in a stimulating but protected environment with our toddler day care program. Our educators ensure their exploration is both safe and fun, while integrating the key components of early childhood education.
At Heaven’s Touch Christian Learning Center, our toddler day care program focuses on building good habits and practicing new skills. Our classrooms are designed to help children develop social skills and learn about their environment. Within the classroom, there are centers where toddlers exercise and develop their creativity and imagination.
The components of the toddler day care program include:
- Education You Can Trust. Dedicated and highly trained teachers make learning fun and enjoyable while implementing Heaven’s Touch Christian Learning Center early childhood education curriculum.
- Learning While Playing. Teachers plan developmentally-appropriate language and literacy group activities, math and science exploration time.
- Healthy Body, Healthy Mind. Healthy eating habits and self-help skills are encouraged.
- Personal Spaces. Toddlers like to have some space of their own, so each child has his or her own cot and cubby for their personal belongings.
- Circle Time. During circle time, children learn about the weather and the days of the week.
Singing and finger plays are important components of Circle Time. Each toddler is encouraged to participate in gross motor activities and complete an art project each day.
- Parent-Teacher Partnership. We cultivate a partnership between our parents and educators to provide the best environment for our toddlers.
- Staying on Schedule. Parents provide a detailed and updated schedule of their child’s activities, including eating, sleeping, diaper changing, and any special instructions, to help us maintain the same rhythms you set at home.
- Daily Reports. Each evening, teachers provide parents with a report of their child’s day. All meal times, diaper changes, nap times, and play times are documented.
- Progress Reports. Teachers prepare a quarterly Progress Report to chart and display each child’s growth and success, making it to easy compare to quarters and development.
- Putting it All Together. From age three through Kindergarten Readiness, we maintain a formal sampling of each child’s progress.
- Preschool Program. Our preschool program helps your child feel confident and prepared for kindergarten.

Preschool
Preschool programs from Heavens Touch Christian Learning Center are a safe place for your child to land while they’re learning to fly. As the years glide by, we are proud to watch the spectacular progress of the children in our care.
In our preschool program, our number one priority is to help your child feel confident and prepared for kindergarten. To engage your child, our lesson plans offset creativity with instruction. That balance is what stabilizes their skill-building in a community of learning where respect for themselves and for one another is emphasized.
A child’s confidence level sets the stage for everything they do at this level and the next. Building on that self-esteem is critical to our curriculum. Keeping them focused on objectives in an environment that makes them feel like they can soar, at their own speed, is our first and best obligation to you and your family.

Our Preschool Programs Promote Kindergarten Readiness
As your child progress from infant care to the toddler rooms and on to our preschool program, we add a bit more structure to help prepare them for the school years. But there’s no doubt this is a fun and exciting program!
In preschool, your child will begin the process of transitioning into an independent learner. With our preschool programs:
- Teachers identify where children are developmentally and plan accordingly.
- Children learn self-help skills while improving language and social skills.
- Activity centers encourage creativity, exploration, and imagination.
- Arts, crafts, and play further develop fine and gross motor skills.
- Language and literacy skills are advanced through group activities in a classroom setting.
- Phonetic awareness is extended into math, science, and the concept of opposites.
- Students strengthen their social skills and self-confidence.
We also utilize the Work Sampling System and individual portfolios to document your child’s growth and development. From age three through Kindergarten Readiness, we collect a formal sampling of their progress in the Seven Domains of Learning:

Before and After School Program
Our before and after school programs are designed to encourage creativity, exploration, and imagination.
The program features 8 Hot Spots from which children choose their daily activities and includes projects designed to excite and engage.
- Hot Spot activities run from culinary experiments and cookbook collections in the Heavens Touch Café items can be sold.
- Spotlight on Heavens Touch features a production and theatre area and is supported with sets and costumes from the Studio of Design and Creative Encounters Hot Spots.
- Heavens Touch Newsroom will report on all exciting activities and projects that occur throughout each week.
- Study Hall provides assistance with homework and school projects.
- Heavens Touch Game Room will also be available for a fun and relaxing break from a demanding day at school.
